Spinning and equipment
Informal tutoring for spinning is available at most general activity days.
Formal Spinning lessons are also available by arrangement if none have been scheduled.
“Spinning Basics” lessons are available at a cost of $35 at Speers Point at times to fit in with the beginner/s. This will cover use of wheels and maintenance, spinning techniques for “singles” and plying for a completed yarn.

EQUIPMENT
The Guild sometimes has equipment donated which is available for sale. Currently we have Wilson 4 shaft looms available, several Ashford traditional wheels, Inwood Smith electric spinning wheel, an Eortel electric spinning wheel and an Ashford Drum carder.

Weaving
Weaving interest groups take place on the fourth Saturday of each month (except December) at:

Informal tutoring is available at these activities.
Levels range from beginners to more experienced.
Looms include Inkle, rigid heddle and table looms.
An Introduction to weaving on 4 or 8 shaft table looms can be arranged for individuals or small groups. This is usually conducted over 4×4 hour weekly lessons.
Instruction on other looms can also be arranged on request.
